BRUSHING

this is a decorative wood treatment, at which the wood acquires a pronounced effect of tree rings, and if it's easier, it takes on the appearance of a mature tree, or even simpler - prematurely artificially aging. Mainly used on hardwoods (oak, ash, beech, meranti et al.).

This process consists in removing with a special brush soft wood fibers from its top layer, which gives the tree rings a colorful expressiveness. Under natural conditions, this effect gives wood time, therefore, brushing is called a technique of artificial aging.

Brushing works especially well with subsequent toning., when treated wood is painted in one color, and the formed cavities and pores are painted in a different shade, which creates a magical patina effect.
