Did you know, what in 100 kilometers from Kiev there is a small Temple of the Sagrada Familia? You've probably been to Barcelona, and even if they weren't, about the Sagrada Familia, which was built by the brilliant architect Antoni Gaudi, heard for sure ....
What do you remember about him in the first place?? Personally, we noticed a huge number of symbols, placed on the facade.
So here, near Kiev, in the small village of Parkhomovka, there is no less "symbolic" church - the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos. Active church, by the way.
First about the church itself.
In addition to the characters mentioned (which will be discussed above), its most remarkable detail is the unique mosaics. The author of which is no less than Nicholas Roerich.

They say, that Pokrovsky depicted all his future works on the church.
And they also say, that the inscription on the dome predicted the fall of the Romanov dynasty. See the bastard, crawling to the name of the last king?

Now a little history: the church was built in 1903-1907 years as conceived by a major industrialist, benefactor Viktor Golubev. More precisely, already built by the sons of Golubev, because he himself died in Rome, in 1903, in Rome. But they buried him in his native Parkhomovka. Barina was loved, and more came to the funeral 4 000 human, including peasants. However, love in the master did not prevent them from 1917 break the crypt and get the body - all in search of gold buttons ... buttons were not found, the body was thrown somewhere ... compassionate local grandmothers secretly reburied Golubev somewhere, however, where exactly - no one was told. So the location of the grave of Viktor Golubev is not known..
All that remains is a monument, delivered to Golubev in 1994 year:

After the Revolution, by the way, vegetables were kept in the church, and then - pesticides. Only a fluke saved the building: not only poisons were removed from it, but, Moreover, even restored. And here is the Priest's House, which originally formed a single architectural ensemble with the church building, much less lucky, hands didn't reach him - that's why he looks much worse 🙁
But anyway, our firm recommendation for you is to find time and go to Parkhomovka. Ukrainian Sagrada Familia is definitely worth it!
