We continue to admire the churches of Podil. Next in line is one of the oldest and at the same time preserved churches - the Church of Nikola Pritiska.
Temple, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, stood in this very place even during the times of Kievan Rus.
The temple owes its present name - the Church of St. Nicholas Pritiska or St. Nicholas-Pritiskinskaya Church - to a wonderful occasion: one night a thief climbed into the Temple and, like a thief, stole everything, what could take. But I just could not bear it - the huge icon of St. Nicholas fell on him, pressed to the floor. This is exactly how, pressed, a thief and was discovered on the morning by the parishioners of the Church. Legend or truth - not known. But even if a legend, then beautiful. Like the church itself
