Once a couple of years ago I started a renovation. The course was 8 to 1. The crisis 2008 years at that time already let go a little, and the horror of the coming years did not yet foreshadow anything. Renovation inspired me, prices were quite reasonable, and everything around inspired belief in a quick and successful settlement in your own apartment.
And so, a few months later, a couple of million permanently dead nerve cells (after talking with builders) and a couple of thousand liters of gasoline (burned back and forth trip to Oldie and Epicenter), I almost finished creating my nest. There is little left to do… Remaining kitchen! What am I telling you…? If you have made repairs at least once, you already know! This turned out to be the most expensive and most necessary piece of furniture.! I started miscalculation. First there, then here… from familiar furniture makers, from less familiar and completely unfamiliar… And whatever one may say, it still came out at least two thousand dollars…. And the repair has almost come to an end, and all the bins and bins were emptied… I had to get out!
So here are some ideas from the seasoned 😉 on the topic of pretty savings in the kitchen.
1.Don't make a kitchen out of solid wood, believe me, nothing in the world can stop you from making it out of MDF, Chipboard or plywood (plywood, by the way, you can even make facades!)
2. Save money on drawer backs: just don't install them. What are they needed for, if you have a good apron or great wall decoration?
3. Top drawers can be replaced with open shelves. Especially, they are at the height of fashion now!
4. Not standing everywhere, just put closers on each drawer! Although, many "kitchen workers" will "sell" them to you — be prepared for this 🙂
5. And the boxes can be replaced with curtains.! The fabric will certainly cost less 😉
6. Don't order a countertop made from natural materials! Laminated chipboard is also quite suitable.. Today, it is chipboard that has a huge variety of textures and textures..
But not chipboard alone ...
Do not forget about one more equally practical and economical material. — artificial stone. It is durable, beautiful and very variable.
Let's go further ...
Particular attention should be paid to cast marble and ceramic countertops. Due to the wide variety of colors and shapes, they closely resemble natural materials. (if you are strongly attracted to "nature").
In short, output, which you yourself probably already did: there is a huge variety of materials, through which you can try to save 🙂
By the way, here's a couple more: stainless steel — cheap and practical (often used in professional kitchens), ordinary ceramic tiles - original (true, there is a nuance in operation and maintenance due to grout seams).
7. Pretend to be a designer 😉 Or remind your friend of her childhood dream of becoming an actress, and still play your best part — will act as your designer. I will reveal a terrible secret: designers are offered special discounts 🙂
8. AND, finally, the most important life hack — kitchen, actually, you can build yourself! yes-yes, do not wonder! The frame of the kitchen unit can be built from ordinary brick, yes so it is in a brutal loft form and leave. Especially, today you can buy a very interesting retro brick. You can also cover everything with ceramic tiles.. This option, eg, more suitable for a country house, or styles "chalet" and "provence". Although ... And in an ordinary apartment it will be original and economical! And we are talking about this, Yes? 🙂
9. You do not have to order kitchen cabinet handles from the manufacturer., since they are the same producers - their, sorry for the tautology, do not produce, but they buy, then to sell us at exorbitant prices. You can easily pick up your own and unique Pens with a capital "Rrrr". They can be found easily in the same truncated hardware stores or even flea markets.. The latter option will definitely add authenticity.! Handles can be completely different, but can be sustained in the same style, but at the same time it is absolutely not necessary, so that they are the same shape and color.
Recommendation: good selection of ceramic handles at Zara Home, and you can also make your own! 🙂
10. Another "kitchen" trick: pull-out shelves and drawers are much more expensive than hinged doors and conventional shelves! Because there, where you can easily do without a pull-out system, make regular shelves out of MDF or plywood. And if you really like pull-out shelves, then the door can imitate them, but at the same time be solid and swing. Feel free to ask questions to managers and manufacturers, they can do anything, but, of course, they don't always want to help us save
11. It is also worth considering the need for such a device., like a carousel in deep corner cabinets. The thing is definitely good, but if we save not only money, but also space — she is not for us! More kitchen utensils fit on regular shelves, although it will be put, of course, not so convenient, But ... 🙂
